Sports Tonight Live, branded simply as Sports Tonight, is a British television show and channel, owned by Kelvin MacKenzie's Sportstalk Ltd.[1] It was launched online on 29 August 2011.[2]
On 15 October 2011, Sports Tonight Live began to broadcast on Freeview channel 112,[3] where it is listed as Sports.[4] The channel requires an internet connected, Freeview HD set-top box or television, although the service may not be compatible with early Freeview HD equipment.[5] Sports Tonight Live was the first English language channel to use VisionIPTV’s studio production and internet broadcast playout services.[6] It was also the first over-the-top delivered channel on the Freeview platform.[7]
The show broadcasts sports news daily, with two presenters: Mike Parry and Chris Cohen.[8] There are also a number of guests and pundits, including Lucia Coward, Tony Dortie and Ian Stone, discussing sports with a focus on football.
Every show is broadcast live for 4 hours every week night and during the afternoon at the weekend.[5] At other times, the latest programme is shown on a loop and branded as Sports Tonight Replay.
